Hello,

According to my car (June 2005) and the new A6 FL headlight (4F0 941 003 CP) that I have bought, there is small PIN adaptation to do :
- the side light PIN ( number eight) of the new headlight has to be moved to PIN 10 (in replacement of one of the two Leds wires),
- on the new headlight, Leds have two wires. Both has to be pinned together on PIN 12, to have direct +12V,
- the rest, I think, is OK.

Now I will try to plug one tomorrow.

I will keep you inform.

Gasy

Dear Gasy.

Have you already purchased a pair of new ballast set for this modification? My A6 came with factory installed Bi-Xenon lamp without AFS. Should I purchase a new set of headlight with LED DRL only or plus ballast set?

Thank you.

Hello,

Finally, I will sell my 2 new A6 Leds facelift headlights.
I have made a mistake on the partnumber : originally, my A6 is fitted with AFS, and these headlights has not.
For those who are interested, PM me.

Gasy, can you confirm if the headlamp from the 2009 facelift physically fits in the pre-facelift cars? it looks from your photos like there is a considerable gap between the outer corner of the headlamp and the body of the car ?

Hello RMCK,

On my picture, I did not installed perfectly the headlight to my car because my test was only to see if the my car electrical wire fits to the headlight wire. And it was OK!!
I have installed only two screws of the three that it should be installed.

Please find a link where you will see how it fits perfectly to a pre-facelift A6:

Can I PM you some question about the pin you change to get the LED hedlights working?

No, there is no component protection for this unit.
However, the bordnetz controller has a CP. Just in case you also want to swap that one.

Kai

No I do not think I have to change the bordnetz because it is version K
Are you sure??
My car is from June 2005, and I have no letter behind the reference!!
I have just received the new control module with the K letter.

I am not sure but that is what others who have done this before say, I have not tryed to connect the new headlights yet.
Did you see the last mail I send to you about the facelift headlights, when you have this hedlights did you get them working without AFS?

Do you mean that there is a CP on the following part number (ILM control module) : 4F0 910 279 K? Thanks.

Yes, for sure there is.

I been reading this thread, and theres seems to be some differences between the installation of the Facelift lights.

Am i right in saying that if you have the A6 with existing Bi-Xenons it is a simple swap out and some changes in VAG-COM? or are ther modifications to the connections for the DRL's?

I am looking at doing this mod, but more importantly creating a How to guide, but it would help to havea starting block to go from?
