I am French, so i suppose that m'y RNSE us a Europe.
How can i instal the OEM reverse camera?
Read this thread from the beginning.

kutaec seems to say (guess) that it is not possible on 2010 RNSE...
Well 2010+ Audis fitted with the RNS-E are sold with a rear view camera, and the AV input works on the EU SW so I'm not convinced Kufatec are 100% right.

Is it very true because at this adress (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMyKkVyVgDs) RNSE 2010 is written but is it really a 2010 ? no glossy black and chrome button
That's definitely a 2010+ RNS-E as it has a MEDIA button. I have a 2010+ RNS-E in my B7 RS4 and that doesn't have the glossy black - why? Because that's a 2011+ change.

The question on the YouTube link about SW 0260 is irrelevant as 0260 is US SW for the pre-2010 RNS-E.

OK thanks.
Is it strange (http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_...n/info/p1718_c48_Audi-rear-view-camera---Retrofit---Audi-A3-8PA---complete.html

My RNSE is a 2012 model (Audi A3 january 2012) i think taht ii is a 193 G model, what is your opinion? (black glossy contour screen and chrome button)

What is the good video interface to connect my OEM Audi caméra? (i think it is not RCA but a NTSC signal, perhaps i am wrong)

For example http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p870
Thanks for your help

If you have a MEDIA button then you have a 2010+ RNS-E.

Yes, i have a Media button (http://www.secondemain.fr/auto-pieces-accessoires/pièces/audi/gps-rns-e-audi-a3-s3-100449299.html)
It seems the 8P0 035 193 G Audi A3 Europe, MY 2011

So what is your opinion? Do you think taht i can install OEM rear view camera? In this caes, what is the good interface?
AFAIK the AV input works on the EU 2010+ RNS-E, so that would suggest that the rear view camera will work.

I always suggest the Kufatec IMA+ multimedia interface, and make sure you tell them when ordering that you'll be fitting a rear view camera.

sorry but had to revive this thread as help is needed..

hi guys..just installed my Reverse camera yesterday...only to find out that it can't auto switch when i engage in reverse gear...i have select TV mode inorder to view the reverse camera...

The following are the stuffs used for installation :

OEM Parts
Rear View Camera: 4L0-980-551
Door Handle: 4L0-827-574-3FZ
Camera Retaining Clip: 4L0-980-553
Tapping Screw: N-909-159-01

Kufatec Parts
IMA Integrated Multimedia Adapter control version "Basic"
Wiring harness for IMA Audi RNS E "Basic"
Connection kit original rear view camera VAG to IMA

Only cable i didn't connect / missing out is the blue cable to plug into C2 of RNSE and Point 3 in the IMA Connector as after connecting that wire i get some sort of interference....after removal it's fine..

Done the vagcom and KUFATEC selection to enable Reverse Camera.

My RNSE is Euro spec with software 660 (hacked for SDS).

Do let me know if i have missed out any ??

Thanks guys...

I have found that the G models do not work with the Kufatec kits, you need an older RNS-E with hardware 02 whereas G units are HW 06

AFAIK the AV input works on the EU 2010+ RNS-E, so that would suggest that the rear view camera will work.

I always suggest the Kufatec IMA+ multimedia interface, and make sure you tell them when ordering that you'll be fitting a rear view camera.

Yeah, I wasn't answering your problem magpies14

I was also wondering what it would take to run the oem q7 camera to my aftermarket headunit. I know one member asked the same question but no one answered. I currently bought a fakra to rca adapter and wired the power/ground to the other connector however im getting no signal. I read online somewhere that audi uses RGB or digital signal while most headunits use AV or composite signal. Is that the issue. I have no need for the IMA box from kuftec as like I said imt rying to wire it to Sony headunit and not factory RNSE.
