I have a 2009 S5 with 2G MMI and B&O sound system. Can someone tell me where I can find a place to connect a radio mute wire to mute the factory radio?
The mute wire is coming from the Laser Interceptor module. This wire is what I need to connect to something in the car to mute the radio. What it does it when it receives a laser alert [if you have the mute wire connected] it should mute the radio/source.Just so we are on the same page, where is the mute wire coming from? BT module? If so what wiring have you done so far as there are different way to wire this up.
Have you turn the "Soft Mute" on? You shouldn't need it if you have pin 14 (ring break diagnose) connected and spliced into another unit's ring break wire.

I haven't but I'd love to know.Hi there,
I have exactly the same request.
My Audi A4 Avant (2009) has a MMI 3G unit with DVD (no HD, two SD slots) and I'm looking for "mute" pin location on the MMI socket.
Has anybody this info? Thank you.

Now I have it!I haven't but I'd love to know.
Now I have it!
The mute pin is the n. 1 of the quad socket.
I connected it to laser interceptor and I get MMI mute when LI detects the treat.

Doesn't the Quadlock have 4 sections? - A, B, C, & D?The mute pin is the n. 1 of the quad socket.
Sorry, no photos! but I read this thread in LI forum:Holy cow! Please give me more information on what you did. I'm familiar with Audi's other wiring but not my S5.
Photos?
How you connected it?
Any nuances with the way it works?
Socket A, place n. 1 (it was empty in my unit),Doesn't the Quadlock have 4 sections? - A, B, C, & D?
Which pin 1 are you referring to?
It is also important to note that there are 2 quadlocks, 1 for the radio and one for the mulitmedia unit.
But I think they are talking about the quadlock of the multimedia unit, this was taken from ELsawin.....
1 - NF mute (low frequency) from pre-fitted components for mobile phone installation
Maybe this will help for Todd
Pin 20 of the MMI controller has a mute pin....
20 - NF mute (low frequency) from pre-fitted components for mobile phone installation (Japan-Nav/China-Nav)
Well as you have 2G you don't have a quadlock for start.
You have 2G MMI, so no quad locks, however you do have a 20 pin connector on the MMI controller as I stated. This is behind the glovebox.
Craig, look in section (3) of this PDF of the 20-pin connector. I guess this is what I'm looking for, correct? It's on a different car but it was the only photo I could find.It is also important to note that there are 2 quadlocks, 1 for the radio and one for the mulitmedia unit.
