Will this sd card work?

Great price at Best Buy, but I wanted to make sure this will work in the RNS-E. This will NOT be my primary mp3 source, just a secondary to my PhatNoise.
Thanks,
Chuck

should work ok. $75 is a good price for these. See quicklinks for SC card formatting tips etc.
you can get those ultra ones from sandisk for 65 after rebates on amazon
This one is $50 after rebates

Hmm. When I contacted Tech Support at SanDisk they confirmed this is an MLC card. So it might work OK, or it might work at first and then start showing errors.

Personally I wouldn't take the risk.
I have this exact size and make of sd card and it has worked for me without any problems for over 4 months.

SanDisk make both standard and high speed cards, do you have a SanDisk standard or high speed SD card?
I also have this exact size and make of this Sandisk 1 gig SD card and it has worked for me without any problems for over a year in my RNS-E. I have the 'normal' card. There's no reason to buy the ultra (high speed) card. Buy the regular SD cards, and they are fast as hell compared to a CD...

That's not my experience, and that of several other members here (check the old postings).

We have experienced problems with non high-speed cards ranging from the RNS-E being unable to read them at all through to unreliable reading.

Having had problems with "normal" cards, I personally will NEVER use them in my RNS-E again, since for me they were a waste of money - and something that is "cheap" but not usable is actually expensive.

Each to his own ...
ok, strange, because the RNS-E is made in a time the ultra cards didn't even exist, isn't it...?

My experience: I only uses 'normal' SD cards: Sandisk and Kingston. They differ from 256 MB, 512 MB to 1 GIG. I use them each day in different temperatures (The Netherlands...;-), and change the songs on the cards very often, and I NEVER had any problems.

So it seams to differ by card/car/RNS-E...
i orginally had alot of trouble with some cheap 1GB SD cards, but found that it was the card reader/my old PC..

i havent had any problems with cheap 1GB cards from ecost.com with my new PC for months..

sorry i dont not have the name and model handy, i will check it tonight -- but i know it was the cheapest 1GB i could find ($38 on ecost.com)..

your results may vary..
I was one of the ones who had problems with the "normal" SD cards. Not sure if it was the computer/reader or whatnot but when using a Sandisk 2GB "normal" card, it would work fine for a couple weeks then it would start to load slower and slower until finally it would not recognize the files on the SD card any longer.

I returned the "normal" one for the Ultra II Sandisk version and never saw the problem again.
