For the parts list, could everybody who has a CD changer connected to his RNS-E post which part number you have (for both the RNS-E and the CD changer)? Also, if you remember the part number for the harness, could you post that number too?

In theory there should be the following configurations out there:
- CD changer in glovebox with OEM harness with ISO connector (Symphony/Concert HU)
- CD changer in glovebox with OEM harness with Quadlock connector (RNS-E HU)
- CD changer in trunk with OEM harness with ISO connector

Please do not post questions in this thread, just what you have confirmed working with the RNS-E.

Thanks,
Dirk

8E0 035 111 D (stock unit in a B7S4 w/ RNS-E)

8E0 035 111 A w/ 8E0 051 592 harness (currently installed in the Avant...)
My Audi dealer tells me the glovebox CD changer in both B6 & B7 A4/S4 is 8E0 057 111 C? That's what I've got and which doesn't work with an RNS-E but does work with a Symphony II.

Should I get an 8E0 035 111 D?

I have tested the C and non C versions and they both work on the RNS-E.

There seems to be a difference between 8E0 035 111 and 8E0 057 111 changers. Anybody having more information about this?

Hi Guys,

I've just tested the 8E0 035 111 C and 8E0 057 111 C and neither work on my RNS-E.
It recognises the changer, an the loaded discs, but unable to select the disc to play.

Using cable part number 8E0 051 592 B

Cheers,
Ray

Correction to my last post.

the CD changer 8E0 035 111 C will work with RNS-E Using cable part number 8E0 051 592 B

I'm also 100% certain that 8E0 057 111 C will also work as I ordered this unit from Audii, and the box part number is 057, but the CD changer part number is 035.

If you have this setup, and have an issue where the 6 CD's in the changer control screen are greyed out, and unselectable, try reloading the CD's only when the NAV unit is switched on, and on the CD changer control screen. It looks like for some, the TOC is only read when this condition is met.

Cheers,
Ray
