Where to put BT module

I took a look under the passenger seat before trying to remove the seat. There are two air ducts under there. Does anyone know what they are for?

Do all models have aspot under the seat for the module? I have a barebones 2004 A4, and don't want to take the seat off if I can't even put it under there. I am worried because I just hooked up Sirius, but there is nowhere for me to put it. Don't want to run into this again.

Also, does the module go under the carpet or above when installed under seat?

Thanks,
Craig

Take a look at this PDF: http://www.scoty.de/Umruesten.pdf. It's in German but page 6 shows the air ducts and page 9 shows the location of the box. No idea if the box is there if neither Telematics nor a phone interface are factory installed. But the space should be there.
Thanks. I guess from the looks of that, it is under the carpet.

Still not sure what those ducts are for. Maybe to release heat of a TEL module?

Those ducts connect to the heater, and are to provide warm air to the feet of the rear seat occupants.
You need to purchase a box that holds the bluetooth module under the front passenger seat. I dont have the part number yet, but I am planning on purchasing the item soon. You also have to cut away some of the Foam and styrefoam padding from under the mat... and then the module fits there perfectly in the box. At the moment I have installed the module without the box and its not ratteling or anything, so you can do without it but its not factory finish.
The box for under the passenger seat has the following parts:

Box bottom: 8E0 035 619
Box top: 8E0 035 613A
Foam Insert: 8E0 035 733B
I've got the whole factory setup coming to me this week. Once I get it I can get a better feel for what's necessary. I'm just hoping the mounting is straight forward. I hope if I need mounting screws, there are already holes in the floor for example.

Any more information would be helpful. I will take pictures and document my install when I get everything.

Confused!

Is the location of the Bluetooth module under the passenger foot well or the driver foot well if the car is RHD.

Am I correct in thinking?

LHD: Passenger side
RHD: Driver side
Deleted.
Has anyone retro-fitted the BT module in the factory spot yet? I orderd the housing for it, but wanted to get some guidance before I start.

Thanks,

Chuck
On my A3, it goes in a box under the floor beneath the passanger seat.

Its a bit of a git to fit but thats the best place for it.
Of course Bah35 is talking about a UK car, for europe and the US that would be the drivers side.

Certainly the A3 has a foam insert you can remove to install the phone kit in its box, I cut the foam insert to accept the phone module so it was slightly cheaper. You can remove the seat easily and lift the carpet to install the phone.

Can anyone answer this? I have a left hand drive A6 C6. I would like to confirm where the bluetooth & MMI modules are- under driver side or passenger side?
It always goes under the left hand seat.
