This is for a 03 rs6. I found the speed wire behind the instrument cluster and tapped into it. In reading Justin's writeup he said to cut pin 1 on the 8 pin connector for the speed wire to go into the Kufatec adaptor. I did this, and realized after my nav was very slow in finding where it was, that pin 1 on the 8-pin connector does not go to anything on the plug/play adaptor (Bose, CD, Phone). Everything works fine, radio, lights, cd, etc. just the nav does not reposition on the map quickly - takes about 1-2min and jumps to next location.
The 8-pin connetor on my adaptor only has three wires total. 2 are much larger gauge wires and the one smaller.
Is this where the speed wire goes into? I think the one small wire is the K-Line, however, which I have read I need for proper VAG communicatin. This would be cutting the green with blue stripe wire from the factory 8 pin adaptor. Pin 1 is white with green stripe.
I thought I had this install down, guess not...could I have gotten the wrong Kufatec adaptor (or maybe not even a Kufatec at all)? I sourced from Lanny at Euro-parts.us and ordered the one for Bose, CD and phone. I did not see specific for A4 vs. A6.
Thanks for any help! It is late, I'm tired and thouroughly confused!

The symptoms you describe are those of a missing speed signal. The speed wire goes to pin 3 in connector B on the RNS-E Quadlock plug.

If there is no wire in pin 3 connector B, ask Lanny to send you a separate wire with pin or check with your Audi dealer, the have repair wires as well.
