What is the reset sequence?

I read it somewhere on here and now I can't find.

To reset the RNS-E press RADIO (or FM/AM) and SETUP together until the unit reboots...

So what is the difference between this procedure and keeping the ON/OFF button pressed for 40 seconds ?

And again, what is then the difference of setting 1 on channel 111 on module #37 ???

Are they all the same or there are differences ?
