What guage wire is the GALA wire behind cluster in C5 A6?

In one post I read you need 16 gauge wire for the wire splice/connection. What gauge is the wire in the cluster that is being spliced into. I thought it was 18. I am just trying to find the smallest splice connection for the proper size wiring. Anything wrong with using 18 gauge wire for the connection? I have read some used as small as 22.

the wire gauge behind the cluster is very small. I would guess it to be 20 or 22 gauge. Very thin. Good luck!!

Where are the instructions for taping this on the RNS-E for the A6 C5.

All installed and getting the emphemous "not digited road"

Went into engineering mode and sure enough there are no speed readings. Probably never installed it due to it not being in ANY of the how to's
According to NSX Jr's Symphony I to RNS-E guide you can use the GALA wire in connector III pin 1 as speed signal: http://www.nsxjr.com/docs/RNS.pdf

Justin's Allroad install also mentions where to get the GALA signal formt he instrument cluster:

If you specified A6 C5 or Symphony I radio, it 'should' already be in your RNS-E adapter harness. This wire is notorious for being left out, probably because it is only used for B5/C5. You might be able to contact the vendor of your adapter, and get them to send you the wire with the correct pins, and then just snap it in.

I believe you bought a CANGate, that would leave you with another option. In the latest CANGate software, I can generate the GALA signal from the CAN speed message, and by then coding the RNS-E as an A4 it works. I have run this way in my A6 C5 for the last month doing some other testing. You would have to send it back to me for updating the software, or make a special serial cable for the 8-pin connector.

If you can get the wire for the adapter, that is probably the easiest option.

The GALA/V-signal wire is 0.35mm which is approximately 22AWG.
