About the color DIS, are you sure the RNS-E was never completely compatible with the red screen? I didn't know they offered color on the A3 model and every picture I have ever seen shows the A3 with the patented red screen. It just sounds as though its another coding issue or perhaps a Nav DVD issue with the converting of EU units to the U.S.

Alright, thanks for the clarification. I am currently buying all the parts to put the RNS-E in my 2001 B5 S4 and this was one of my issues before purchasing the N.A. version (A6 of course). As far as the difference between EU and the NA RNS-E, is there any wiring or circuitry differences? Have you heard of any on your german forums you spoke of previously? I am under the impression that all of the RNS-E units have the same wiring and circuitry and most likely programming. The only difference being the faceplate. The way the vag coding is designed, is to run a certain program (send and recieve signals) based on that code you input. Say for example you had an A4 RNS-E, in the vag coding you input the A6 code, it would then look for the GALA signal (acting like an A6 version) instead of the speed signal over CAN. Please correct me if I am wrong.
