And there a other guys over in Germany who figured out a way to enable video while driving just with a VAG-COM change. So, this is possible as well and would be another requirement to get this working.

The VAG-COM hack appears on ebay.de regularly, they are not on a forum or share how they do it and you have to go with your car to them to get it installed. But it is possible, that's what matters. And this hack doesn't break navi (as the Dietz does), it just allows video in motion.
Anyone know anything more about this?

VAG-Com doesn't support SW downloads, so if it is a VAG-Com thing then it's coding and/or adaptation values.

Or are they saying "VAG-Com" because it uses their cable and not their software?

Video In Motion - with navigation still working - would be a great thing to get working. I miss it (I had an RNS-D before my RNS-E and had made the mods).

OK, here is the original topic from navi-forum.net (in German):
TV-Freischaltung an Navi+ RNS-E / MMI

They keep talking about both, the RNS-E and the A6/A8 MMI but they definitely confirmed it working with the RNS-E. The trick to change channel 5 in STG 56, the one which has documented 1 for TV in montion up to 5 km/h and 0 for TV only without motion. They say that you can set a higher value but the RNS-E keeps forgetting this setting. They assume a certain login code is required to store the different value permanently.

They mention diagsoft.de as one of the source offering a software hack to get video in motion (http://www.diagsoft.de/pageeng.php?page=tveng).
wow 299e isnt cheap.. the 1280 is only 179e, but your navi does not work when in use..

if it is a log-in code, it should be in the factory manual or someone in the service department should be able to find it??..
I know of several companies in Germany that can do this but none of them use VAG-COM, they all seem to have their own interface that will allow this to be done.

Any of them selling an interface which doesn't break the navi?
To be honest I heard those rumors months ago, about VAG / SW hack to allow NAV plus play in-motion and play DVD movies direct from slot.... I didn't meet even one person who did 8)
