Can anyone confirm that all the necessary coding can be done using release 311.2 of the vag-com software. THANKS. (buying the tool from obdtool.com, but their tool only supports up to release 311.2)

Yes, at least for the D navi. You may need the full version for some of the encoding.
Where can I find the full version of this program so that I am able to recode.

Do you use the shareware version or the full version?

I need to adapt my rns-e to my car A4 B5. Can I do this with the shareware version or need I the full version?
AFAIK you cannot make changes with the shareware version, just read fault codes. To program the RNS-E or clear faults you will need the full version...

See here for the differences between the shareware and registered versions of VAG-COM http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/vag-functions.html

This is what makes the shareware version no use setting up an RNS-E:

Shareware Limitation(s):

The Unregistered/Unactivated version of VAG-COM will only allow access to the first 9 Adaptation Channels (out of 99 possible).

The Save Function is Blocked.
Since you need the Save function on Adaptation Channels, AND you need to access Adaptation Channels higher than 9 (e.g. channel 62 of the DIS)- this makes the shareware version of VAG-COM not usable for a proper setup of an RNS-E. You can recode it, but that's about all.
