My stupid question is, how to change channel 5 to value 255?

I mean, PIN or secret code, not VAG-COM or VAS stuff.
We all wish we knew that!!!!

At the moment you have to pay someone like PROXUS or craigyb to use a "gadget" to unlock your unit - because we don't know what the secret code is.

Re: VAG COM setup for GALA

During Vag com configuration I am not sure what to enter for Channel 008 (GALA). I live in the UK; my car is an RS6 2005 with Bose. Any advice please.
If you have Bose with AudioPilot then 255.

If you have the older version of Bose, i.e. without AudioPilot, then whatever value you want for GALA - with an RS6 I'd suggest 5! (I used to have 5 in my pre-AudioPilot S4).

The reason why they say >2004 is that the RNS-E was only available from 2004 in an A4, but for the A4 B6 they are the same regardless of year.

Quick question for the mods. With reference to -

STG 56 -> Adaptation -> Function 10
-> Channel 002 (GALA)
0 - Self calibration
8 - Audi A6 (4B)
43 - Audi A3 (8P)
45 - Audi A4 (> 2004)

Shouldn't this be -

-> Channel 002 (WHEEL PULSE)

Vagcom says channel 2 is the wheel pulse. I await you wisdom ;)

The wheel pulse is used to set the value used for both navigation calibration and the GALA setting on non-Bose cars.

So both wheel pulse and GALA are correct. Wheel pulse is the source of the signal - GALA is the reason for the RNS-E needing the signal.

Codes VGA

Hello, everybody!
I'm French then I am sorry for my English ...

I look for the VGA-COM codes for my car:
Audi A4 (B5) of 2001 V6 2.5l TDI
Equipments : RNS-E (4B0 035192 P), Bose, Telephone
Olds equipments : Symphony I, BNS 3 (command under the hand brake and drive navigation in the trunk)

Thank you and see you soon

Look at these two places:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com

http://www.openobd.de

They give information on (almost) all the known coding possibilities for most VAG cars.

What vag-com version needed for RNS-E?

Hello, I am trying to implement VIM hack, but my old ebay generic vag cable won't access adaptation 97 in nav for me to allow downgrade. I'm using a twin-key + 409.1 software.

Do I need to go ahead and shell out a few hundred for a newer and genuine vagcom cable + software?

Thanks

VAG-COM versions older than 5.12 are known to have probems communicating with the RNS-E and even more the BT interface. However, there is no reason why one could access the RNS-E but not a specific channel. Unless VAG-COM is not a licensed and registered version of course.
