I lost $1700 on deal like that :x

Since eBay doesn't reimburse for transactions made outside of US and Canada, I'm basically screwed. Additionally the most popular way of payment in Europe is wire transfer which in case of any fraud is not recoverable.

So unless you have someone locally who can pick it up, I would stay away.

Im going to Germany in May so I'm trying to do some homework now on the situation there.

I see the one you bid on was for the US "E" version as well. Why are there all of these US versions of the RNS-E in Germany? Or are most scmas to get Americans to purchase them?

Not saying that all "E" units are sourced this way but most A4 are build in Ingolstadt/Germany and that's where the nav unit gets installed into the cars. At some time they arrive from AISIN waiting to get installed in US cars.

If you plan to bid on a "E" unit I would definitely follow Proxus' advise and try to pick it up locally.

It would definately be a local pickup without a doubt, I'll see what I can find. Also, maybe I can source some European versions at junk yards or something and bring them back home here to the US for sale.

Well I guess I wasn't scamed at all.
Package arrived today...took over a month (because it was sent via regular DeutschePost not DeitschePost/DHL)

Anyway, I will make some install pictures and screen pictures today.
For now i have only those 2 pics ;)

Awesome man! Good to hear you still got it...I had a feeling it wasn't a scam because of the seller's previously sold items and Ebay rating.

Take lots and lots of pictures of the install, step by step, if you can please.

It just needs 12V+ on connector D, pin 15 (KL 30) and ground on connector D, pin 12 (KL 31). It will auto power off after 30 min though.
