Okay first off anybody want a brand new ME3 - $125 shipped to 48 states?

So that means install didn't go too well but a solution is near.

Everything went fine trimmed glovebox door and test fit unit (it basically mounts on left side to the top and covers glovebox light). It did fit nicely had plenty of surface to mount to and even could add support it at rear by gluing some "L" to the ac duct. However without even mounting it when i tried to close the door I was about 1/2" or so shy. SO not desiring to hack up the whole dash i looked online a realized there are many other physically smaller options for dvd/tv/audio input units and even more just dvd/audio input units and just dvd units. As tv has not been worth it in the past I really just wanted dvd and maybe extra input so...

Therefore i ordered 2 options

the first is a dvd/audio input unit "Farenheit DVD-36 DVD/CD/MP3 Player"
it is less tall and less deep and a little narrower but does not have lcd display

the second is just a dvd unit "Lanzar SVDVD5" but it is even shorter than the Farenheit and about the same depth and width ALSO its black with red detailing and silver buttons so i think it will look the best.

As mouting is not a problem just unit size is it will be quick to try both units above I will let you know which unit i go with this weekend - hopefully someone can use the ME3.

a buddy of mine is using a PYLE 120 (the 122 has TV tuner).. it has a display and controls on the front as well as aux-in.. i think it is only ~$80 new on ebay..

the plastic feels cheap compared to the ME3, but it has been working well for over a year and a half now..

it is about the same 1-din size, but ~2" less deep..

nice looking unit with good functions (i just can;t confirm size from manufacturer so i skipped on it).

did he fit it with only cutting the glovebox or any additonal mods required?

now that i have time to wait for units the more i think about it the more i like the lanzar as it is basically red and black and from specs the smallest besides a half din unit (though no display but i don't really want non-red lcd so i think its okay, only thing is the extra input but right now i don't really have need for it).
