TMC on version 2005 in UK?

I have version 2005 part no.8P0 919 884C and do not receive TMC in the UK. The navi is telling me that either the DVD is not loaded or their are no TMC stations broadcasting, neither of which is correct. Can anyone advise if I need version 2005-2 for TMC in thr UK?

I've got 2005_2 and UK TMC is NOT working on that either.

Earlier this year rumours were saying that it would be on 2005_2, then that changed and a date of "early 2006" rumoured, but the last I've heard (unless anyone knows otherwise) is that there is NO DATE for TMC on the RNS-E in the UK (but it WILL be added to the MMI DVDs for the A6 and A8 ).

Apparently it's all down to licensing fees to ITIS (the TMC provider in the UK).
Thanks for confirming. It is very annoying because the operating manual gives specific information on TMC which is misleading, to say the very least.
I called Audi CS UK a few months back about this and they confirmed the A6 disc and said there was an A4 RNS-E in the pipelines in testing for late 2005/early 2006.

I kindly pointed out that I had spent over £4K on Audi satnav in 18 months which was promoted in their UK literature as using TMC. They tried to say the UK didn't have a signal network which I corrected them on and suggested they weren't willing to pay the licensing costs.
I am also awaiting for some feedback from Audi. To suggest that there are no radio stations sending TMC signals is not true. I have recently been using a Pioneer AVIC navi system in the UK which receives TMC. As you say, it's all to do with non payment of licensing costs.
Classic FM has been transmitting TMC information for maybe 5 years in the UK - I was using an Alpine DVD system back in 2001 that had TMC working on the UK motorways and trunk roads. Looks like the common situation of the PR and/or CS departments don't know what they are talking about.

As well as TMC they also need to get the map accuracy sorted out - the 2005_2 map STILL doesn't show the new A34/M4 junction, and it's been open over a year.

At nearly £400 per DVD Audi UK really do need to get their act together and deliver us a map DVD that is "worth" that much. At the moment there is little or no point in buying the new maps (beacuse they are NOT "new") - it's only the 0330 or 0360 SW update that give the 2005 and 2005_2 DVDs any value at all.

End of rant!!!
I was contacted by Audi Customer Services who advised that after the new A6 (C6) gets TMC very soon they expect the DVD for the C5 to be upgraded some time around the end of this month but before the end of the year. They would not catgorically state that the upgrade will work(!). We shall see!
