First posting, great site, very informative!
I'm thinking of retrofitting an RNS-E to a new 8P Audi S3. I have 3 questions:
1. The car will be fitted with the new double-DIN Concert III head unit, with BOSE. Can anyone confirm whether the wiring loom for this will be the same as that for a Symphony III for the purpose of retrofitting an RNS-E ?
2. The car will also come with GSM phone prep, and will have the "shark fin" antenna to which I understand the phone prep is connected. Do cars that have phone prep but do not have standard-fit RNS-E units still come with the extra cable to the "shark fin" for the GPS ?
3. The standard RNS-E in the new S3 has an S3 logo on the startup screen when it is switched on. I assume that this is achieved by a firmware upgrade, which is probably on a unique nav DVD for the S3. Am I correct in this assumption, and if so, would obtaining an OEM S3 nav disk enable the required firmware upgrade to allow the logo to be displayed?
Thanks in anticipation.
