Tel Module: People having difficulty hearing me?

I have played with the boost settings for the Mic on the Tel module, but people say they have a hard time hearing me.

0db-4db, was too quiet. 5db seemed to be the best but not perfect. 6db, everyone said I sounded like I was in a tunnel, and they preferred the 5db setting.

Anyone else with this problem?

Where did you located your mic? I had simmilar comments but from the other hand, my friend told me that previous setup I had wasn't better.

After all it is like talking on the speaker and this is never clean

I put it in the factory location between the dome lights.

Originally I had it next to what I believe to be the Audiopilot mic, higher up in the overhead unit.

People didn't seem to have a problem there with limited testing. When I found out the proper factory location, I moved it there.

I had the same issue.
I did two things:
1.Changed the cable between unit and mic to a better one specially for a mic.
2. Re-assembled the mic from between the dome lights, turned around the mic 180 degres amd mounted it back. I think this made the diffrence, so try it first.
