Fantastic write up! I thought that most if not all 2001 and newer S4's had the CAN wires in back . . . ? Do you have any issues with the digital clock and calender in your instrument cluster?

thanks man. it actually seems that 2001.5 and newer S4s do not have the CAN wires connected. The older ones seem to be plug and play.

im not too sure about the clock yet, i took the RNS-E right back out again when i was done. I dont have my diversity adapter yet and i need my radio I can tell you that for the 10 minutes i played with it, the clock on the RNS-E unit was wrong, and it was set to get the time from the cluster.

Do anyone knows if the same trick can be done with a concert radio?

I have already installed my RNS-E but using a can interface instead of it's own signals. My dis, gala and steering is not yet working.

The car I am driving is an 2000 A4 B5 1.9 TDI.

Navigation is working correct.
