I have the RNS-E Euro A6 version working in my B5 S4 however it appears it may be missing the speed signal. The unit does not update the positon and recalulate route as fast as I had hoped and I am getting speed singal error code. The wiring adapter I received was made to route the speed signal supplied to my old Symphony I to the RNS-E. I would think this is sufficent correct? if not is there any other way to run the speed signal to it other than from behind the cluster since it already the connection through the harness?

As I understand, the B5 S4 does not have the speed signal on the can, so therefore it must be configured as an A6 and get the V signal. does Craig have his unit receiving the signal over the can? if so The B5 S4 is very similar and I may be able to get it that way as well. I will have to go for a quick ride and check the speed signal in engineering mode.

Just came back from a quick drive and some testing, In engineering mode the speed signal section all parameters except voltage showed 0. I cleared the code for v signal in and it came back. For grins and giggles I changed the recoded the RNS-E to x3xxxx for a B6 A4, which has the speed signal over the can, and I the RNS-E behaved the same, and this time I had a fault code about the instrument cluster. Its actually surprizing how well the RNS-E behaves without the speed signal. I can't wait to see how fast it operates when I connect it. It is bizzare though that the signal supplied to symphony I does not suffice, I wonder if that was an issue with the cd based nav plus?
