Out of curiousity....do you think that SDS functionality is related to software or hardware? During firmware modifications I noticed that EU BASIC could be changed to EU HIGH, so I can only suspect that this change is triggered by additional sectors in software responsible for that functionality. If this would be the case then it should be fairly easy to add that functionality to any unit.

Since every RNS-E (including none SDS ) has already external MIC input, we could have chance do enable it somehow :-k

So far only the Euro RNS-E 8E0 035 192 H is confirmed SDS compatible. I haven't read anywhere yet that someone had retrofit SDS with any othe runit. SDS as in voice control for radio/MP3/CD and navigation besides phone which can be voice controlled with any RNS-E.

I'm buying a "J" unit this week and I'm going to try and get full SDS.

I'd also like to know what all I'm going to need to do to make the switch from my regular RNS to the SDS unit. I already have the OEM BT kit and I've coded my 6 button MFSW to be able to work some functions on the telephone.
