I am looking to get a 2gb card for my RNS-E and have a couple of queries... :?

How much of a difference does the speed make (i.e. Sandisk 2gb SD v Sandisk Ultra II 2gb SD) ? Are we talking milliseconds, seconds or minutes?

How does the difference mannifest itself?
i.e. is it:
- just when you put a card in for the first time?
- each time you turn the unit on ?
- or every time you select SD ?

Many thanks,

Rich

you will only see a difference when uploading files from your computer to the card. to fill up a normal speed 2gb card, it can take around 2-3 minutes, while a high speed card could take only 1 minute. when accessing the songs from the rns-e, or when starting the rns-e, it will be virtually the same amount of time (accessing songs is instantaneous, and first starting takes at the most 10 seconds with around 400 songs)

SOME, not all but a few, old RNS-E's will only work with high-speed SD cards.

My first RNS-E, a version C, would only work with high-speed cards, but my current, a version H, will work with standard speed cards as well.

Thanks guys.

Not too worried about time to transfer from PC to SD so will probably opt for a standard SD card.

My current card is a std card but at only 256gb  it is probably worth getting a bigger card...

I hope you mean 256 MB !!!

Make sure you get an SD card, NOT an SDHC card - the RNS-E will not work with SDHC cards.
