Route guidance is not starting automatically?

I've noticed that once I start a new route it doesn't start telling me directions until I hit the "MAP" button or "INFO". On the nav display it will show the route in whole, like starting point to ending point. My instrument cluster will display the actual miles to destination with an arrow pointing. But it stays at that mode until it hit a button like MAP or INFO and it will then start spitting out directions.

I don't remember it doing it this way before. The way I would start route guidance was:

1) Input the address
2) Click on start route guidance
3) Once start route guidance was starting it would "automatically" start telling me which direction to travel and so forth.

But lately, I noticed that I've had to hit another button like: MAP or INFO for it to start handing out the orders? Is this the normal way it done or what? This is really the first time that I've really used the Navigation for actual a business trip so it may be correct, but I just don't remember it working like this.

Once you enter the destination and it shows you the "overall" map, it is giving you three choices of routes to take. You can scroll through the route options and select the one you want by pressing the big button. Only then will it start giving you directions. If you don't select a route, it will automatically select one for you once you start driving... that is what yours is doing, and that is why it takes a little while for the nav lady to start talking to you.
I don't see anything about the 3 choices of routes? And I also don't remember it being this way. So did I change something in the setup menu?
I sometimes get only one route to choose from when I start route guidance. This happens after it says "calculating route" and switched to the map view.
After entering the route, I get the "overall map". Like I said I've never seen the 3 choices before. But on my instrument cluster I'll get the "calculating route" but I seems to not switch to the route guidance.
The three choices are only if you have a route with no stopover. However, if you do have stopovers, you still are shown the overall map with only one choice of routes that you still have to confirm...

From page 120 of the manual, route with no stopover...

"After you have started route guidance, you are offered up to three routes. Select one of the routes by rotating and pressing the control knob. If you do not select any of the routes suggested, the route marked is automatically imported after a delay once the trip has started or during the trip. The delay gives you the opportunity to change the route selection one more time. You can find additional information on the route selection starting on page 130."

From page 121, route with stopover...

"After you have started route guidance, the calculated route plan with all the various information is initially shown as an overview on the map. Confirm route guidance by pressing the control knob."

This is one of my favorite features. It gives me the option of taking the backroads or major highways...to my destination. Very, very cool.

Todd: I imagine that you need to go to the setup menu to enable this. Not sure.
