RNSE Nav goes screwy with Dietz 1280 /1417

I just got my RNS-E unit installed with the ME3 DVD player. I am using both the dietz 1417 and 1280. I have a switch to change the A/V input to the 1417 from my video ipod to the DVD player. I have a separate switch to toggle the video in motion 1280.

When I switch on the video in motion on and run it through either the DVD or the ipod my nav screws up. The arrow indicating my location is off and is usually not even on a street. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

Is it not possible to be using the dietz adapters and nav at the same time? (I would like to be able to watch a video on my ipod or dvd player and then toggle back over to my nav without it being disturbed)

The whole idea of the Dietz 1280 is to filter the speed pulse from the canbus to fool your Nav system into thinking the car is not moving, hence you get TV whilst moving, but the nav system suffers.

Same principle on cutting the GALA/speed wire on the A6 nav's.

So no your nav system is not fully functional whilst watching TV in motion.

If you had read some of the many posts on here about video in motion, you will already know that video in motion is achieved by removing the speed input to the nav - which means the location on the nav screen only updates very infrequently and causes inconsistency between the position from GPS and the gyro system in the RNS-E.

Let's make this 100% clear - simultaneous video in motion and navigation are NOT possible on the RNS-E.

Annoyingly on the RNS-D it is possible - the RNS-D has 2 speed inputs not 1.
Sorry Dave for asking a question. I have read and searched all over this forum for that answer. Thanks for being so nice about it.
