I have a RSN-E installed in my 2001 RS4.... Does anyone know the RNS-E's steeling wheel control wiring? because I would like to make a converter to control the CD up/down and volume level from my steeling wheel.... I and thinking is it run by CANBUS or other wiring?
thanks for your help

Do you have the Multifunction steering wheel already? Or do want to retro fit it?
It uses CANBUS. You just have to code the steering wheel interface right, and then you are able to control the RNS-E. Please give me the interface part number (visual with VAGCOM).
And I can tell you the coding.

Thanks for your reply! I don't have any steering wheel buttoms now and I am looking for the parts for those new audi and try to put back to my old (2001) audi do you think it can work? I have to check my RNS-E part no will let you know later....
It does work. I ve done the same with my Audi A2. I retro fiited a heated Multifunction steering wheel 8). But it coast a lot of money. You need the wheel, airbag, interface and "Schleifring" (i dont know the englisch name, it is behind the steering wheel for the cables, so they dont turn, when you turn the wheel) and you need some cables and time. Aprox 1000 €.

Thanks for the helpful reply. But 1000 hours - surely not! Also: Schleifring - Slipring :))) You can see how English is descended mainly from German!!!
