I am upgrading to the RNS-E, and have the terrible sounding Bose symphony 1. I think the rating is 200W on my radio. I also own a Touareg, and it is rated at 350W. It sounds AMAZING. How does the RNS-E compare to the Symphony? Should I disconnect the Bose system altogether? Do I need another amp?
If you have BOSE then all 4 speaker channels (FL, FR, RL, RR) are amplified using the BOSE amplifier. Changing from Symphony to RNS-E does not change that.
The new BOSE amp is rated at 350W. Is it possible to replace my current amp with that one? it seems like a more expensive alternative than aftermarket units though.
The Bose amp has a build-in equalizer programmed for a certain model only. A B6 amp won't sound acceptable in a B5 or any other model.
