Hello
A6 C5 TDi Sport 2003
I need a little help to complete my RNS-E install. I have read and carried out instructions from the numerous posts on the site but cannot resolve the problem that I have!
I have retrofitted an RNS-E unit from a single DIN concert II stereo. The harness was supplied by KUFATEC and seems to be fine. I've downloaded and registered VAG-COM (Version 409-1) and purchased a cable to code in my unit. After several attempts I cannot get the front speakers to work. I have the BOSE amp fitted and have recoded accordingly 0509113 (A6 C5 with BOSE and Phatbox) but the front speakers still don't work. I have removed the BOSE ground wire from pin 7 on connector B and reconnected the unit but still no front speakers! I read a post that specified a BOSE system would have the name “BOSE†on the speaker grills but mine do not, however, it is an Audi part and fitted as part of the spec for my car. I have also tried to reset the unit to factory default by saving 000 in Adaptation-10 but this has failed to resolve the problem.
Another problem I have is that the unit will not power up when the ignition is switched on and the panel lights fail to illuminate when I switch on the cars lights. When I remove the ignition key, the unit remains switched on and only switches off when I open the driver’s door. The same applies to the panel lights. In a previous post regarding this I was advised to VAG-COM the unit first and take it from there. The only other solution I can think of is that the CAN wires are incorrect but I can’t remove them to switch them over. I’ve tried paper clips, small screw drivers and pins, is there a special technique???
At the moment I am running the 2004 nav disk that came with the unit but don’t want to upgrade to the 2007 disks until I have it working properly.
My unit produced the following fault codes with VAG-COM:
