No VAG-COM code needed, just connect the mute signal from the H/F to the MUTE line on the RNS-E (and if you want the phone audio to use the car speakers connect the phone audio to the LF+ and LF- lines).

Hi there all... A newbie here!

I've just installed (well, still trying) a RNS-E in my 2004 Audi A3 from a Symphony II.

All is going well, excpet the phone mute.

I've a bluetooth kit already installed, and depsite connecting the mute wire to the appropriate pin on the Nav Plus, it dosen't work.

I've looked through this site, and come across this:
http://www.navplus.us/forum/viewtop...days=0&postorder=asc&highlight=telephone+mute
but, I'm not up to speed on what this VAG code is...

Am i missing something?

I'd be grateful for any help.

Thanks

Chris

The RNS-E must be coded for no phone unless you have the OEM Audi phone kit installed. If you don't have a VAG-COM cable you will need to visit your friendly dealer who can check the config in a few minutes and confirm that it's coded properly.

Thanks for that advice...

I'l pop down to my local dealer and see how friendly he is!

I'd don't know anything about VAGing the car myself, is there anywhere you can point me to, or give me a brief idea of what's all about. I take it that code is if I do the work myself?

Thanks

Chris
