RNS-E Firmeware wishes!
The actual Firmware for the RNS-E is 360. I think we should make a list with improvements and send it to Audi Customer Service. Maybe they use for further upgrades.
I keep this complete (including your postings):
• Import address over SD card (vCard-file type)
• Import address over telephone book
• Import self made Points of Interest (as POI-Warner with warning would be awesome)
• Call telephone number straight from Poi’s (Restaurant and so on)
• MP3 or CD in mixed mode, skips into new shuffled audio track and not to the next on
• Support more than 512 files on SD card, official 4 GB SD card support
• MP3 ID3 Tag over scroll over DIS (with option to disable)
• Radio text und not just RDS Name
• CD text support
• Phatbox support with MP3 ID3 Tag

well in the US we are still waiting for some of the features (mostly phone related) Europe already has..
but another i would like to see is ::
:arrow: list street that you are driving on (even when not in route guidance) on the RNS-E display.. currently it is only displayed in the DIS when in route guidance or with the crappy compass option ON..
it could be displayed in the black bar under the map instead of the newly added clock.. who needs another clock when there is one in the instrument cluster :x

Current speed, as the GPS should be accurate. My mate has a X5 and it's a great feature.
Also a decent compas, like the old model used to have.

I'd also add:
1) Ability to synchronise the cluster time to GPS time (except for people in Germany who have the radio clock), GPS time is MUCH more accurate than the cluster so synchronising the RNS-E to the cluster is stupid.
2) TPMS on the RNS-E (it's there on MMI but not the RNS-E).
3) Ability to watch TV AND navigate at the same time - OK there would have to be a disclaimer screen.
4) Support for a DAB tuner for EU.
I guess, the synchronisation from cluster to RNS-E (cluster gets info from RNS-E) would be a upgrade for the cluster, but I do mention that. What is TPMS? Traffic Program .... . Do you mean a memory for the traffic jams over the Radio as in the Radio Concert II or Symphony? This is already built in the RNS-E. If you press INFO an then the TOP Left button on the MMI you are able to see this.
I am able to watch DVD and navigate at the same time! You don't have the map screen, but the TV picture, but at the DIS you can see where you have to turn (as with the small navigation BNS).
DAB Tuner would be great!

TPMS is the tire pressure monitoring system (Reifendruck Kontrollsystem) which does display nicely on the MMI but ignores the RNS-E...
I would add also during navigation:
1)Kilometers/miles already covered
2)Employed time and average speed
3)Altimeter
In my old 98' A6 I had an aftermarket navy which showed all these .
I know that in engeneering -mode I can see something but it's not immediate

Keep in mind we have an AUDI, not a FIAT !!!
They will never accept INTELLIGENT suggestion, go figure WEIRD TECH FUTURISTIC requests...
Maybe within the next 10 decades...

Also, please allow optimisation of stopovers, so that if I punch in 3 addresses, i can press an optimise button and it arrange the best route for me?

I wonder if the Nav DVD can be hacked and change the colors on the screen?
I noticed when I switched from EU to US software the verbal directions stopped actually saying the street and town names. With the EU software it would often say things like, "turn left onto Main Street" or "Take the next freeway entrance onto Rt-78 towards Harrisburg". Now, after switching to the US software, it will simply say "turn left" or "take RT-78 west". I miss the coolness factor of having it actually say the names.
I send the list to Audi, but received just a "Thank You". I expected some contacts to the RNS-E Research and Development Part, but no chance.
