Taking my car to the dealer tomorrow. They said they might be able to help me 'code' the car if I was specific in my instructions. I have a non-bose Audi A4 B6 model...

Instruments cluster (STG 17) should be 17+4=21

What else needs to be done?

Have you got the Audi bluetooth or phone prep, a CD changer, multi-function steering wheel, digital or satellite radio or a TV tuner?

Assuming you have none of these extras, code the Nav unit 0301111.

Anything else and you'll need a slightly different value (it'll be 0301xxx).

You either need access to VAG-COM (software plus cable that you can buy from Ross-Tech) or a friendly dealer who use their diagnostic computer (VAS 5051) to recode the Navigation unit and instrument cluster.

As per my previous post what options does the car have?

Without that I can't give you a correct coding value..

for cars with coded instrument cluster to 17 ....sometimes 20+ values don't work.
It would be easier to set values to 5 than 21.

1 - radio
4 - nav

My car is non-bose, doesn't have steering wheel controls...no cd changer either. It's a 2002 A4 B6 Quattro 1.8T...do you need more information?

PS Thanks for all the help/advice thus far...
