I'm about to embark on a Concert 2 to RNS-E upgrade on my UK 2004 Audi A3, and will be ordering the adapter from Kufatec soon. I dont have a BOSE system, but I think the aftermarket Parrot bluetooth that came with the car uses the phone connection on the head unit. Also, I may in the future get the iPod dock, which would go through the CD changer connector.

If I order the adapter prewired with both phone and CD connectors, will it work even if I dont have them? I think I read the BOSE is the only crucial one to get right?

Thanks.

Yes, order the adapter with CD changer and phone support and without Bose. The Bose part is cirtical as it changes the wiring, having CD chanegr and phone support only adds some wires but it doesn't change the wiring of the adapter in general.

Great, thanks for the swift reply.

Couple more questions - do Kufatec need to know what my current head unit is? They only ask what model of car I'm using the adapter on.

Secondly, do I need this antenna adapter:

http://shop.kufatec.de/product_info.php/info/p200_RNS-E-Antennenadapter-Radio.html

or this one:

http://shop.kufatec.de/product_info.php/info/p136_Navi-plus-RNS-E-Antennendapter.html

I've had conflicting reports. The guide at www.audiretrofit.co.uk suggests the second one, and another guide I downloaded suggests the first.

Thanks.

Symphony II, Concert II and Chorus II need the first adapter, Symphony I (in a B5 A4 or pre-2001 A6) needs the second adapter and I have no idea what Concert I or Chorus I need. To be certain, pull your radio and check the connector. If it has a beige/yellow plug besides the main ISO plug you will need the first adapter. If it has a silver plug for the seco0nd antenna wire then you need the second adapter.
