recently had a battery die from not driving the car for two months. at the same time i swapped clusters with an rs4 cluster.

i went to enter the safe code, and it locked me out. although it was the correct code.

anyone here have this problem before? does the nav have to be synched with the cluster?

Check there is +12V on the SAFE pin.

You'll have to leave the RNS-D turned on for quite a while for the safe lockout to timeout - there's no other way.

i understand, however even if i put in the CORRECT unlock code... it locks the unit.
Then that is NOT the correct unlock code.

You need to visit your local Audi dealer who can connect their VAS 5051/5052 to your RNS-D and look up the serial number on the Audi database to tell you what the correct code is.

heres the fix... and make sure the unit is unlocked when you do this...

completely unplug the rns-d unit from the vehicle. leave it out for a few moments. let it go completely dead.

plug it back in, start the car. enter the code.

it comes back to life...

idk why this happend or how... but now it works...

if i had to take a guess. this is ONLY A GUESS...

maybe the immobilizer from the rs4 cluster kills the nav as well??? idk. but thats the fix.

its up and running now. booyah~!
