Remote controlled clock...

3000 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  rlarsen
I remember I had such option on my TT some years ago...

Well, I though this was quite a "standard" on newer cars...

My B7 S4 does not shows the aerial at all and I don't know if the remote controlled clock is there or not...

How can I check (possibly without removing the cluster) ???

Is it something I can retrofit ?

It was nicer than "not being really sure" about time... ;-)

TIA

As far as I know that radio clock is a Germany only thing. It's a module attached to the intrument cluster receiving the atomic clock signal from Braunschweig/Germany. You can enable that module with VAG-COM but maybe only if you have the module actually installed. If you are around Germany and close enough it may actually be retrofittable, ETKA should have the part number. To enable the radio clock set the 5th digit in STG 17 channel 19 to 1 (should be zero if you don't have the module installed).
I ordered it today and will be installing it next week.

I'm not so far from Germany to receive that signal (when I had the TT, it was syncing with no problem...).

Thanks for the confirmation.

You need a clock receiver that will be installed behind the rear bumper to the left - and this receiver is then connected to the instrument cluster with a 5V cable and a signal cable, and these cables need to be retrofitted as well.
