I have my European RNS-E unit working at just about 100% now! Only a few very minor bugs I still need to iron out. One of them is that the radio station PTY information seems to be wrong. For example, all of the stations that should be listed as "Rock" are listed as "Educational", my local NPR stations are listed as "Travel", and the Hip-Hop stations are listed as "Weather". Is there a way to correct this? Its obvious that similar stations are producing similar PTY information on the screen (e.g., all of the "Rock" stations all display "Educational" for the PTY), so it seems as though I just need to calibrate it somehow.

to most this is a minor bug in retro fitting an EU unit..

this has to do with the database US and EU use.. for example a rock station in the US may be station type 2 but in EU station type 2 is educational.. there may be a way to tweak the patched US DVD, but no one has found it yet..

i tend to have the map on the display all the time, so i dont really notice the screwed up PTY info..

we should list all the "bugs" with US patched EU units in the FAQ so everyone knows what they are getting into and if it is worth the extra money to get a US unit..

Good idea. I have created a new topic and will try to keep that updated with issues concerning the Euro RNS-E.
