I've got the led bars that run on all four doors aswell as the footwell lights.
My q7 doesn't have the ambient light option so I
Wanted to retrofit them. The floor lights have a different
Connection to my current ones.

Any help?

I'm kind of new to this retrofitting stuff.. Basically, my existing footwell lights have a wider connection plug in compared to the led ones I have... May need a connection adaptor?

My led bars are only the led bulb with the strip. I have no
Wires.

Hope that makes it easier... Your help is much appreciated

Hi, you will need to fabricate wiring looms from the light bars to the door control modules in each door and modify the door panels (or trim) to allow the light bars to fit. The door trim is different under the aluminium trim where the bars fit. The connectors for the light bars are part number 4B0 971 832 and wires to fit are 000 979 009E. You need to connect pin 1 on the light bar to pin 8 on the 32 pin connector on the front door control unit and pin 2 to earth. On the rear door connect pin 1 on the light bar to pin 3 on the 16 pin connector on the rear door controller and pin 2 to earth.

Add +32 to the codings on each door control module to enable them. If, like me, your door modules are long coded you will need to use the long code helper in VCDS to change the coding (which I have successfully done).

Hope this helps, Dave

I know this is an old thread but what about coding for the front doors? I can’t add +32 in my vagcom, only for the back doors.

If you don't want to do coding, you can get these like what I did. Ambient lights in footwell, back of chair, underneath and on doors.
