Since Craigyb test proved that BT TEL module is working on European units, I decided to make some tests for US market. I know that plenty of people will be interested in that MOD so I will post my findings here.
I spoke with few Audi techs and they are confirmed that AOA offer 2 TEL modules (nobody could confirmed BT functionality but it says "wireless" in specs)
1st one is for pre 2005.5 cars
8E0 862 335
2nd is for 2006+ cars
8P0 862 335 B
This would actually prove theory that newest module is marked with letter closest to the begining of alphabet:
8P0 862 335 D » Euro unit tested by Craigyb
8P0 862 335 C » newer Euro unit tested by Craigyb
8P0 862 335 B » newest US unit
I could be wrong in naming those units Euro / US...it's a slide chance that all those units are cross-platform and will work in US and EU cars (which was the case with Dietz 1417). Either way all those units comes with similar pricing.
Approximate Euro unit cost:
220.00 GBP = 397.628 USD
Approximate US unit cost:
$490 - $540 (depends on dealer)
My second step is to order one of those US units and test it on my US RNS-E. If you know any info that could help this project let me know. This will make this process as panless as possible
