so i came across this post from AudiA4B6US and although i had vaguely heard about pins removal i wasn't quite sure it was actually possible...

… You will need to remove the wires using a special tool (Ted was talking about this tool several times) or a paper clip which you insert to unlock the wires and remove them...
so i went in the "archives" and found these 2 links from TeddyBGame...

well as i'm about to take the CD Nav+ out of my car to transfer it over to someone else car, i wanted to know more about that...

if i can save my buddy some $$$ by not having to use a new set of wires that would be great...

so does anyone know more about the "paper-clip" technic AudiA4B6US is refering too? and has anyone had experience borrowing these tools from the stealership?

TIA!!!

I use a set of jewellers screwdrivers - available from any good electronics hobbyist shop.

yup...i've heard that those can work too. In the 20 pin connector...the pins are soo small....it's difficult to keep from damaging the original wiring harness etc.

I purchased these tools for my own Nav+ installation back in February 2004...and have made them available to others on this forum (USA & Canada only). They work extremely well...and make the install very painless.

Let me know if you need them....drop me an email.
