I read this article on audiworld

and saw that this guy retrofitted a Symphony II (CANbus) into a 2001 A6 (that had a Symphony I). He presented a solution to convert the steering controls to CANbus by changing the "608" controller (part# 4B0 907 487F).

Has anyone tried this?

Question for teddybgame:

Do you know if he (NSX JR) had any success with getting the MFW to work by changing the "608" controller as he described?

Do you know whether his car was CAN bus enabled or was it the REM line?

Him and I spoke a lot when he was doing this conversion. I don't recall if he ever added the Can-enabled MF steering wheel....but he learned about that controller as part of his research.
