hi i retropitted my MFSW but the recoding is a big problem.

i found a topic on this forum with the same problem but i think i post it new so i get more response and solve it quickly...

situation:
- the module (ABS/brakes) (03) is empty so has all 0000 and wsc 0000
- can you safely drive with all the lamp burning..?? esp and brakes and airbag??
- the new S/C ring has the new yellow connector. i used the old one modified it a bit so it fits in the new ring. (easy to do) meanwhile i ordered a new one.

my question:
- 1 - the ols pins in the yellow connector (airbag light) were pin 1 and 2.
do i need to change it on the new ring. or can 1 stay at 1 and 2 stay at 2.
-2- do i have to clear the airbaglight problem BEFORE i recode ABS/Brakes (03).
-3- i cleared all the error's in (15)Airbag... still it is on??
-4- the steering wheel adjustment: i did the 30 dergees turn in group 5 measurments...but still get the error....

-5- i logged the old module settings and when i look to the screendump it says

Softcoded 04457
WSC 06435

i entered in options 06435 as workstation code is this ok??

i tried login code: 40168
i tried login code: 09357
(for 0?XXX)
9=A4
(for 09?XX)
3 =for the FN3 type
(for 093?XX)
5=4/6 cyl diesel
(for 0935?)
7=automatic

SO i ended with 09357...no login possible??
i tried 40168 NO login possible??

i am helpless i don t no what to do anymore...

i hope someone can give me the secret to solve this...

lots of times i see in the right upper corner from vagcom "login session lost" .... i recode other things this afternoon all went ok.

do i use the wrong login????????? or what do i do wrong??
thanks allready

You must recode your ABS and steering angle calibration as described here:
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Special:Whatlinkshere/Audi_A4_(8E)_Brake_Electronics_(Bosch_5.7)
Sometimes the procedure it's not so fast. If I well remember Todd1010 had the same problem but after a lot of attempts finally the recode has success. The secret is to have all the codes in front to quickl imput in Vag-Com.
For Airbag lamp you probably need the right yellow connector and you must verify if the correct pins are 1/2 or 3/4 because at this moment I don't remember but if you read the old thread maybe you find the solution.

It sounds like you are entering the soft coding value into the wrong field in VAG-COM. It might be worth downloading the VAG-COM manual and reading it.

WSC is the WorkShop Code and usually with VAG-COM you set this to 00000 - which leaves the original WSC unchanged (so your dealer cannot tell that it was you that changed the module coding).

It sounds like you are entering a soft coding value as a login code - this is not correct. You should be changing the coding, NOT entering a login code.

Login codes do special things - like enabling cruise control in the engine management ECU. I'm not sure what effect entering login codes will have had.

Why do you use the 512.4? I hope your cable is an original one because this can be your problem.
