When I try feeding it a Cd it take the disc about half way and then continues to spin it. I've tried reseting the unit by unplugging it probably 10 times now with no luck. Any idea why it will not accept the disc??

Do you have a VAG? If so, check of fault codes in the Navigation controller.

And when you pull the CD out, do you hear the motor still running, like its trying to eject a disc?

yes I have a VAG and yes it still runs for about 3 seconds after pulling it out...

I'll run that check now with the VAG.

It sounds like you might have problem like me. I've got a fault code 02444-Disk Drive load/Eject Malfunction. As long as I have a disc in the player it works fine, but if I eject it. My motor for the eject keeps asking for another disc, like its hungry.

Try just firmly pushing the disc in the loading tray.

Just ran the VAG

There was a fault for the disk error 02444 like you got.

I really dont want to jam a disk in there and screw anything up. After pushing the disk in firmly and getting it to accept it, do you still have the same problem?

If this is a continuing issue I should return it for a new one since its brand new.

yea same here mine doesent like cd's,burned/legit(bought from store hehe) it did one time...but i put in the wrong cd,and it never worked again...but navi works!

If it works in navigation mode then there is already a DVD in the drive.

I think he is saying the Navi DVD works, but not CD's for whatever reason.

correct navi works(but im still waiting for the gps wire to get in so i can get signal...but when i put in the actual dvd disc, it works,i will tell you when i get the gps wire in how well it is on directions ) again i tried puttin the disc in and still not any cd will work..i even tried making a mp3 cd and nada..just another coaster.maybe it needs to be updated?

My memory is getting bad - will the RNS-E play MP3 CDs?

I thought it only played "real" audio CDs and that MP3's had to be on the SD cards?

Yes, it plays Audio and MP3 CD (not DVD) from the internal drive (not the CD changer)

maybe there is a software update i need to do and then it will recognize the cd?
