Nav Plus software update problem

Guys,
Can anyone help me out here? I was updating my Nav Plus software and everything went well until the second download from the disk. The disc / unit hung on "SH graphic system. waiting for CD".

After a while I restarted it and the unit now only displays the TV along with audio from the radio.

I note that someone has posted a similar problem but unfortunately with no reply's - anybody any suggestions?

Solved the problem.

I removed the fuses from the navigation and radio etc which reset the unit. On repowering it, it went back to the software upgrade screen and continued to update.

I now have the latest software version and everything works!

What does updated software do? Meaning what are the benefits of having the updated software? Also how hard is it to do?
