Folks,
For noob's, installing a RNS-E (DVD-based) and RNS-D/Nav+ (CD-based) might seem like a daunting task. Some of us have installed a few of these units over the past year, so we've had a bit of experience with Audi electronics. I thought it would be useful to post a list of name/locations of those in North America (and Europe, where applicable).

For most installations, adding the OEM RNS head unit, and other OEM accessories can probably take 4-6 hours; additional add-on's (A/V adaptor, hands-free or bluetooth cellphone kits etc) can add time and complexity to your installation. I don't expect everyone to add their contact information to this list, but at least we have a place for some people to request assistance.

Please note: There is lots and lots and lots of information via this site. Anyone with simple DIY wiring skills can accomplish this installation yourself. All you need to do is spend some time reading this information online and do the appropriate planning. I recommend starting with the "QuickLinks" section for either your CD or DVD-based OEM upgrade or do a search before you post your questions. Good luck!

Been getting lots of emails in the last few weeks asking how much I charge to do installs, all from people who have got my email address off this forum.

Just to make it clear - I DON'T do installs for other people (even when you offer to pay me), I offer advice to help fix problems you may have when doing your own install.

Teddy - Wonder if it's worth editing the list at the head of this thread to make it clear who will take money to do an install for someone, who will do an install for someone just for the "intellectual challenge", and who will just offer advice to help you fix problems with your own install?

PD: I'm going to just remove you from the list...as this list is to help people with "hands on" installation issues. Troubleshooting post-install issues can be handled on the forum as we normally do.
