Nav info in Red DIS without on/off toggle (US firmware)

After some observations, I noticed that I will get the Nav info in the Red DIS cluster automatically without the on/off toggle. This will work only if you wait until the car is in motion before you push the "Accept...blah blah blah" disclaimer.

Of course, this is not really useful since we typically want to choose a routing plan when the vehicle is parked. Can anyone else confirm this is the case with US units and the Red DIS? I wonder if the info to the Red DIS is somehow tied to the speed signal.

Interesting. Which part number does your RNS-E have and which software version are you using?

I have the Euro Unit "C" that was upgraded with the US firmware courtesy of your instructions :D so I no longer have the software version (reads x) but the original software was 100 and the hardware version is still 52.
While I had the red DIS I saw that it was not always necessary to turn the RNS-E off/on to get the navi screen. Thinking about it, I think when I was driving and then started route guidance, it worked right away. Taken I didn't run the US software at that time (no disclaimer to accept), it would be similar to what you are seeing now. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I can't confirm this anymore since I upgraded to the color DIS. :)
it doesnt seem as though i have to do the on/off trick anymore with my red DIS??.. i was running a US updated EU unit and now have a true US unit..

not sure if it is the US software or entering route guidance on the go (now that i am more comfortable with the system and have most destinations stored)??..

Actually, I realized you don't even have to be in motion, as long as you are past the "When stationary press foot brake..." screen in the DIS (press the reset button on the turn stalk), before pressing the Accept on the RNS-E)

So it seems to work consistently with the following steps:

1. Insert key in ignition,
2. Get past the "When stationary press foot brake..." message in the DIS by pressing the reset on the stalk while parked, or simply engaging into Drive or Reverse
3. Now press the big knob on the RNS-E to get past the "Accept" disclaimer
4. Nav info should automatically be displayed in the DIS at this point
Same here, I have a "c" unit and have full DIS navigation with the upgraded software.
