It's a copy and it simply wont read. When I open the disc on my Mac i can see these files:

Disc is simply called "Neu"

It contains one folder called "MMI RNS-E DVD" which contains these files:

EUROPA_0550_1800.DB
GPS222.DB
kN031EU14x01t09.DB
kN031EU14x01t09G32g.DB
SPE_030603.DB

Total disc size is about 1,55 GB.

Is this event the correct disc?
Can i somehow move the files to my computer and make a new disc that works?

This is all a big mystery to me so please answer as to a three year old ;-)

It's the wrong disc. RNS-E disk should be about 7GB. I would recommend to get an original 2005 disk from ebay.de for less than 100 Euro.

disc is correct - 2004 version

your disc is correct, it's 2004 version i have in my audi. 1,55GB, disc label is EUROPA_0550_1800, not Neu. directory listing is correct. i'm now just not sure whether 2006_1 disc will work in this system ... i'm trying without success.

disc is correct for new A6/A8

i suppose for sedan versions. avant and allroads should have rns-e navigation and these have mmi navigation. first difference is in the disc size, where mmi nav has single layer dvd containing under 2gb of data (1.55 2004 version, 1.8 2005 version) and rns-e disc contains over 7gb on dual-layer disc.

As Dirk says it's the either the wrong disc or a faulty disc.

ALL RNS-E DVD's have 6-7 GB of data on them and HAVE to be DL DVDs. Since your disc only has 1.55GB of data, it's no good to you.

Navi problem

Hi all,

I have also same problem, in trying to have map's for entire Europe one of my friend gave me an image Navi DVD. But after burn, the image the navi doesn't recognize the DVD. To find the problem, I think it is necessary a GPS PC emulator, to test and investigate this problem onto my desktop PC. I'll give you all details below about my Original DVD (from Audi) and the new DVD received from my friend. Which could be the problem? Some DVD protection?

Original DVD:

Label: Neu (2.17 GB)

EUROPA_0850_2142.DB
GPS222.DB
kn052eu16x05t01.DB
kn052eu16x05t01g32f.DB
SPE051107EUWS3.db

Image DVD: (2.5 GB)

Label: EU_10300_2342

EUROPA_10300_2342.DB
GPS222.DB
kN061EU16x03.DB_
kN061EU16x03g32b.DB_
SPE060504EUWS3.db

Onto both DVD there is no folder, just the files named above. Do you have any idea why Image DVD is not recognized, same as original DVD for my Navi???

thank you,

FYI the Australian RNS-E map disk is only around 1GB.

Thanks Alister - instead of ALL I should have said US or Europe.
