I just bought a brand new Audi A4 2.0 FSi with a factory installed RNS-E / Bose sound system and multi-function wheel. Just driving off the showroom, happily enjoying music, suddenly and without an apparent reason the unit went bananas: the volume raised and lowered in its own free will, it would not respond to button changes (or in the best case with substantial delay >1 minute!), the stations dissapeared from the screen, etc.
I did try to reset the unit having searched through the forums (RADIO+SETUP for more than 10 secs), but the problem is there. I took the car back but since it is brand new, the dealer said he will order a new RNS-E instead of fiddling with it. This means that I will be without music, for about 15 days until the new one arrives. Does anyone have any ideas that could help me trying to solve this problem? e.g. a say, "hard reset" key combination instead of the one above, that will tell the unit to reconfigure itsself, or something similar?
Thanks
