Today I was on a ferry for a short while.
The trip took about 10 minutes.

The screen showed me exactly what route the ferry would take.
But the cursor didn't move.

It's not something that I really wanted, but it would be nice if the cursor would show where I was on the water.
When I reached the other side, I drove and the cursor jumped to the right position.

When does the RNS-E refresh the position, and why only when the car is driving?
Doesn't it just use the GPS signal and use the Gala or CAN signal when there is no GPS signal?

Without speed signal it takes about 10 miles before the RNS-E switches to GPS only and refreshes the position more frequently based on GPS data. Therefore you will usually not see the arrow moving if the car isn't movingin such a situation.

Where "moving" means the wheels are not turning so there is no speed signal.
