I am not familiar with that interface, but I have the Dietz interface which is in two parts; one for the interface and one to 'fool' the RNS into thinking there is a tv atached. I aslo have a 4 way video switchbox in the glovebox which switches between the DVB tuner and the PS2 which I can use for DVD viewing or games .
i think the unit above will only allow you to view dvd's and or use a playstation/xbox. It wont allow you to view while driving though. I think thats why people will go with the Dietz.

But I could be wrong until someone confirms this...
The new Dietz is a single box as well, and this seems to be a no-name copy with the same functionality.
yes the Dietz multimedia interface (1417) used to be 2 boxes, now it is only 1 box..

for video in-motion you will need the Dietz 1280 if you have a B6/7 A4 or an A3 since the speed signal is on the CAN-BUS.. if you have a B5 A4, A6 or an Allroad you can simply put a switch in speed signal wire..

On a different thread it was discussed that you tell the RNS-E that it is a A6 unit so it gets the speed of the speed signal, thus allowing video in motion with just a switch. (in a B6 A4) Did anyone ever try this?
Only works on GALA related speed sensors, not can bus afaik.
A4 has can bus.
There were some recent dicussions here and on forums in Germany that one can code an A4 unit to A6 to enable the speed wire. The only issue is that there is no speed wire in the A4 and someone would need to get it from the instrument cluster or fuse panel. It is also uncertain whether or not the A6 coding will work in an A4 without issue. Drained batteries or other strange issues may be caused by incorrect coding.
