I just picked up a 2006 A3 3.2, with navigation (I believe RNS E). Awesome little car, and the nav is too cool.

Dealer wanted $700 for Sirius, so I ordered the unit from clairparts.

I ran a few searches and found some helpful info, but nothing directly on point. I'm comfortable working with cars and electronics, but would appreciate input from anyone who has done this before. I assume it will be similar to this:

Can anyone tell me if I will have to reposition the can-bus, as shown here:

Thanks,
Matt

installed, but minor glitch

I got it installed just fine, and the nav head unit recognizes the tuner. I activated it, and it plays music beautifully, but for some reason the channel and category displays are messed up.

It doesn't show all of the channels, and the channels that appear in different categories are all mixed up. Some of the categories don't have any channels at all.

Does the head unit need to be recoded somehow? Do I need to reset something??

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

If you haven't officially signed-up for Sirius service and given them your receiver code, you'll only receive the free "preview" channels.

I did activate the subscription. Anyway, it seems to have fixed itself on the drive home tonight. Maybe it just glitched when updating the channel list the first time or something.

I'm a little disappointed with the way all the channels and categories are displayed, but at least they're all there now. The morning drive just ain't the same without Howard.

Thanks.
