ID3 tag info

i have an iPod and used iTunes to rip my CDs.. i ripped them to MP3s and they play fine on the RNS-E..

but SONG NAME still showed .mp3 and the DETAILS screen did not show artist, album, etc..

the manual says to use ID3 version 1 and 2.. i checked the songs in iTunes and they said v2.2.. then i saw a menu option to convert ID3 tags.. the selections are v1.1, 1.2, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4..

i converted 1 album to each version and dropped them in folders 1-1 thru 2-4 accordingly..

i also turned on the GENRE option, just to see what works and what doesnt..

my results::
v1.1 & 1.2 -- showed song name only, complete song info on details screen, and genre on list view..
v2.2 -- only showed file name, no song info, no genre
v2.3 & 2.4 -- showed song name only, and complete song info on details screen, but did not show genre on list view..

i dont like the genre shown anyway, so i converted everything to v2.4..


one other observation which was mentioned before: .mp3 is displayed in list view until the song is played then it disappears.. i dont recall if there are any other tricks to that??..
