just installed the rns unit, and the nav dvd would occasionaly display dvd/cd unreadable error, today, the unit isnt even able to recognize the dvd......is there a vag.com code that comes up if the laser for the reader is not working properly?, are there special cd's that can test the laser reader of these units?


any help would be appreciated

No test code or CD that I would be aware of. Are you using the original DVD or a backup? And what is the temp outside? There were reports that humidity may cause this, even when using the original DVD.

it is running a burned dvd as it is an eu unit i am assuming (no warning messages, and am frequency is off)......what scares me is that it has trouble recognizing music cd's, particularly burnt cd's.......
